Ibiza Town
Ibiza Town the capital of Ibiza, is considered to be Europe’s ‘Party Capital’. With its glorious eccentricity, day or night … this really is one town you will not forget.
Now World Famous due to the celebrities that frequent here, you can spot many ‘famous faces’ strolling through the cobbled strees of the Old Town, enjoying the flamboyant ambience and ecclectic atmosphere that really makes this town a must to visit.
The stunning views across the bay, the Port area and ‘hippy’ style stalls amidst designer shops all create an idyllic holiday atmosphere.
The town itself is easy to navigate, all roads lead to the Port! From the Ferry Terminal the old streets of the Sa Pena quarter bring you up to the walled old city D'Alt Vila Within the walls there are still quite a number of medieval buildings, of which the tower of the Cathedral is by far the most impressive. Here you’ll also find the more ‘upmarket’ restaurants, hotels and apartments. For cheaper options you have to go down to the harbour or to one of the suburbs or other villages on the island. Just south from Ibiza Town are the suburbs of Figueretas and Playa d'en Bossa. Both have beaches, bars and restaurants that are explained in detail on this page.
Accommodation in Ibiza Town itself is pretty limited, however many prefer to stay in nearby Talamanca or Figueretas (both with beaches). However if you wish to stay right in the centre of town you’ll find plenty of ‘Hostals’ that are simple yet comfortable and the Royal Plaza is also centrally located.
Best Beaches
Figueretas
The closest beach to Ibiza Town, busy with families and partygoers alike.
White sands and clear blue sea, aligned with cafes and bars. With Ibiza Town to the left and Playa d’en Bossa to the right, this beach is very centrally located.
Playa d’en Bossa
Playa d’en Bossa boasts the longest stretch of beach on the lsland is lined with Bars and Cafes to suit both family and partygoers alike.
The clear blue water is very shallow near the shore and the pure white sand makes this beach one of the most beautiful on the island. There are excellent views of the Old Ibiza Town and ‘Bora Bora’ the most popular beach bar is based here. Crowds gather early afternoon until the sun goes down, dancing the afternoon away and waving in the aircraft as they lower to land at nearby Ibiza Airport.
