Paguera

Popular with the Germans Paguera has much to offer. The Boulevard, which is the main thoroughfare, is lined with a wonderful array of shops, and closed to traffic in theevenings; which makes for a leisurely atmosphere in which to stroll and browse. There are some particularly good leather boutiques, offering quality merchandise.

Further along the Boulevard towards the West you will find many excellent restaurants; the beach area is also peppered with restaurants and bars along the promenade which are just too numerous to mention, believe me when I say that you will be spoilt for choice..

Best Restaurants

La Hacienda Restaurant
Tel: 971 685 473
Built in a cosy single storey hacienda style, with outdoor summer dining this establishment’s speciality is a mouth watering dish called Rodicio. Be warned, take a healthy appetite!

The Rodicio consists of seven different grilled meats brought to you on a huge skewer, accompanied by a selection of grilled vegetables. Afterwards there’s fresh grilled pineapple and banana. Now if that doesn’t get you hooked nothing will! All the traditional Mallorcan favourites are on the extensive menu, and there’s also a delicious salad bar.

Tapas are also available. Open from 6:00pm 7 days a week throughout most of the year. In the depths of winter, the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays.

La Gran Tortuga Restaurante

Tel: 971 686 023

Enjoys a privileged position overlooking the sea in Cala Fornells which is just behind Paguera. However, one needs transport to reach this delightful restaurant, unless of course you are committed walker!

Restaurant Phoenix

Situated at the Western end of The Boulevard which is the main drag in Paguera, this upmarket restaurant is German owned. The cuisine is of the highest quality and the service excellent. This small but sophisticated restaurant comes highly recommended.

Rancho La Romana

Tel: 971 687 084

Is a little difficult to get to, especially since the main carretera from Santa Ponsa to Andratx was completed, however it is worth the effort just to experience the authentic ambience of this rustic restaurant. Situated at km 20.5 and up a track Rancho Romano is built in the hacienda fashion. Popular with locals it has a country style indoor restaurant complete with cart wheels and all the paraphernalia of an old farm house, in the summer one can dine under the hand crafted straw parasols in the outdoor patio garden.

The International menu also features typical Mallorcan dishes. There is an excellent wine cellar. Whilst horses are kept at Rancho Romano thus adding to the country charm, they are strictly for private use only. Open all year.
